Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, Massa Lubrense, Province of Naples, Campania, Italy (Gastrosofie). Anyone who has made it to Naples, probably by plane, only needs to take the train from Naples to Sorrento and from there by bus or taxi to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.

True enough, the large village on the Sorrentine Peninsula, known as Penisola sorrentina, is difficult to reach. A few hundred people are said to still live there, supposedly 3,000. The first inhabitants, it is said, were Greeks, but they would lie, if at all, in the cemetery known as the “desert”. And because of the desert, you probably didn’t travel the long way to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi?

No, because of the noble restaurant Don Alfonso 1890! This includes the Relay & amp; Châteaux & nbsp; Don Alfonso, which invites you to linger. It all started with Alfonso Iaccarino and Livia and will be continued by Mario (Maitre de Maison) and Ernesto. By the way, Don Alfonso studied at the Hotel Management School in Stresa and at the School of Life.

The hotel and restaurant are located in a 19th-century Neapolitan palace, which is generally decorated in light colors – lilac, yellow, orange, and pink.

But especially the dark cellar has it all. Thousands of precious bottles are stored in Don Alfonso’s cellar in 1890 in a thousand-year-old and impressive environment, which comes from a pre-Roman building, there are said to be over 25,000, hundreds of them from around the world. Not only priceless wines are stored there, but also cheese.

It goes into the kitchen and the dining room, but also what the lemon trees and olive groves produce. With fresh products from our own farm Le Peracciole, Mediterranean wonders are created in the kitchen, based on simple recipes such as swordfish with chickpeas and thyme, red mullet with rosemary and cucumber, pasta with volgole and zucchini. See, smell and taste for yourself!
