Berlin, Germany (Gastrosofie). Well, it’s true: Lamborghini doesn’t just stand for high-performance sports cars. The remarkable racers now belong to Audi AG and thus to the Volkswagen Group, but originally to Lamborghini Trattori, an Italian tractor brand that was launched in 1948 by Ferruccio Lamborghini.
The engineer, who was born in Renazzo in 1916 and died in Perugia in 1993, not only founded Lamborghini Automobili and developed speedy speedsters and huge tractors with two, three and four-cylinder diesel engines, he also had a go at helicopters and went into – wine.
Ferruccio Lamborghini was a truly very unusual winemaker. His lovely Lamborghini wines are not regional wines. According to Wikipedia, „the typical Italian grape varieties officially recognized for this area would be blended with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape previously imported from France to give them the strength and finesse of Bordeaux wines combined with typical Italian wine qualities“. Therefore, they are considered „untypically produced wines“ and, for example, do not receive an award as DOC wines. Officials consider them simple country wines and must carry a label to fit and have to be sold accordingly.
Wine cannot be classified lower, but knowledge of the exceptional quality of Lamborghini wines got around quickly “and at the latest „Lamborghini ‚country wines‘ have been in the international high-price segment since the early 1990s: for instance, a 2001 vintage Lamborghini wine is sold by the German importer for about 40 euros per bottle. „
Ferruccio’s fine wines come from Umbria, where the Lamborghini winery was founded in 1968 at an idyllic location near Perugia. The Lamborghini estate covers 100 hectares. In addition to five fine red wines such as the Trescone Umbria Rosso IGT or the Campoleone Umbria IGT, the elegant white wine Centanni Grechetto Umbria is also produced.
Prosecco is also a good buy. Demi Sec Valdobbiadene Prosecco, Superiore D.O.C.G Millesiamto and Extra Dry Prosecco D.O.C Treviso are offered or a Brut Vino Spumante as an Italian quality sparkling wine. A Lamborghini considered to be of a particularly fine quality as sparkling wine with traditional bottle fermentation Metodo Classico is „The Legend“ in Bianco and Rosé.
Lavish the luxury of the Lamborghini brand, which can be bought online from Vendite e Vendite Markenvertriebsgesellschaft GmbH.
